REGE 25 NOV 01

The seven men seconded were

COPI.

Hon. Col. Saay.,

P.C.: 90 O'Connell,

128 Saab,

74 Allen,

88 Godgson,

124 Billy,

51 Wiltshire, and

111 Wright.

The first 8 now wish to leave the Police and join the Gaol Staff permanently. They also ask

(1). That they may be granted their discharges from the Marines.

(2). That their service in the Police may count as resident Service for leave purposes,

(3). That it may also count as service for the purpose of the triennial increments to their Gaol Pay.

They have given complete satisfaction

and Mr. Craig speaks highly of them. I recommend that their desires be complied with. P.C.111 Wright prefers to return to the Police and will do so very shortly. I will consider whether I can spare a man to replace him. I hardly think I can at present. I must apologise for not reporting sooner but P.C. Wright wanted a little time to make up his mind, which seemed only fair to him.

(sd.) P. J. Badeley,

18th. October, 1901.

Ag.Capt.Supt.of Police.
